Pyeongchang-dong, situated north of Gyeongbokgung and Seochon, is a great area to stroll around on a nice sunny day. This serene neighbourhood is home to many artists, art galleries and museums. If you're planning on spending a day here, consider grabbing a hearty brunch beforehand at Bookers.

Up a small slope of Pyeongchang-dong, you'll find this unique bookstore-meets-cafe venue. A walk up to the second floor, you'll be welcomed with books displayed in one corner as well as tables and chairs placed throughout.

I took a look around the books on the shelves and asked for books in English. Unfortunately, they only have books in Korean available for now.

The place is decorated with natural elements of wood and greens while the big windows let plenty of natural lights in; a truly comfortable space for visitors who want some peace and quiet.

Grab a seat at a table to your liking, walk up to the counter and order your food and coffee. We went in a group of three and ordered brunch with coffee.

Bookers Signature (₩10,000) & Caffe Latte (₩6,000)

This signature sandwich consists of flavourful bulgogi, tomato slices, cheese and vegetables over soft black bread which I assume was squid ink bread. The sauce has got a spicy kick, which gave the sweet bulgogi sauce a nice balance. It's a good choice for those who want to try brunch with a Korean twist! 

If you've seen enough of Gyeongbokgung and its surrounding areas of Seochon, Bukchon Hanok Village and Samcheongdong, I recommend you take a half-day around Pyeongchang-dong for brunch and gallery hopping. It's a much quieter area with a local feel of classic Seoul that won't disappoint you.
