A lot of people dream of living in Korea.

There are options that can make it come true including sightseeing, backpacking, working holidays, etc. but a large number of people choose to come and enroll in a language program.

Choosing the right language program for you out of so many options can be a struggle but not to worry! We've done the research for you. 😉

These programs can be divided into roughly two parts, regular courses and short-term courses.

The regular courses are divided into four semesters: spring, summer, fall and winter.

If you only choose to study for one semester, it's not mandatory to apply for a study visa. Short-term programs vary in duration, tuition, etc.

1. Seoul National University

Seoul National University | Characteristics

1. SNU is considered the highest academic institution in Korea. SNU's name value could possibly help for future academic endeavours.
2. On-campus housing is available, but priorities are given out to international exchange students.
3. SNU is located close to Seoul National University station and the metropolitan area of Sillim station, providing international students with lots of opportunities to experience the culture and lifestyle of Seoul closeby.
   

2. Korea University

Korea University | Characteristics

1. As one of the three most prestigious universities in Korea that make up the famous acronym SKY, the academic atmosphere is great. If you plan on continuing your studies in Korea, Korea University would be a good choice.
2. The beautiful campus has lots of European-inspired architecture.
3. Korea University offers a language partner program and school groups that offer help with a focus on Korean grammar.

3. Yonsei University

Yonsei University | Characteristics

1. As one of the three most prestigious universities in Korea that make up the famous acronym SKY, the academic atmosphere is great. If you plan on continuing your studies in Korea, Korea University would be a good choice.
2. Shopping and food districts including Sinchon and Ehwa are closeby.
3. The school has a high acceptance rate.
4. The earlier you apply for a dormitory, the more likely you'll get a spot.
5. The school's program focuses on grammar.

4. Sungkyunkwan University

Sungkyunkwan University | Characteristics

1. Sungkyunkwan University is considered a prestigious university in Korea.
2. The semesters are not divided into 4 seasons. Rather, they're divided into 6 semesters per year, providing greater flexibility.

5. Ewha Women's University

Ewha Women's University | Characteristics

1. Male students can also apply.
2. The campus is not only stunning in its beauty, but lots of shopping and restaurant districts are closeby, providing comfort and convenience in everyday life.
3. A language partner program is available through school clubs.
4. Two cultural lessons are provided per semester.

6. Sogang Univeristy

Sogang University | Characteristics

1. The campus is located close to the busy Sinchon area.
2. Out of all language programs in Korea, Sogang University's program was recommended the most.
3. It's possible to apply and join school associations.
4. One disadvantage is that the tuition is expensive compared to other schools.

7. The University of Seoul

Note: Registration fee is not included.

University of Seoul | Characteristics

1. This school is often confused with Seoul National University.
2. Among the popular universities in Korea, the tuition is the cheapest, but the campus is located far away from the other schools in Cheongnyangni.
3. The school puts its focus on all language structures including listening, speaking, reading and writing.
4. Three cultural lessons are provided per semester.

8. Kyunghee University

Note: Registration fee is not included.

Sogang University | Characteristics

1. The school has dormitories and a language partner system available.
2. The European-inspired architecture is famous among locals too and is beautiful in all seasons.
3. Tuition is on the pricey side.
