Stores to visit in the hip Seongsu & Konkuk University areas
You might have heard of Common Ground, but that is not the only place to shop by Konkuk University Station and Seongsu Station. There's a lot to see, whether you're looking for clothes, jewelry, or tech accessories, so keep reading!

Common Ground
커먼그라운드![seoul korea, seongsu common ground shopping]()
Common Ground is the largest container shopping mall in the world. They house a lot of youthful, street style brands, but also have many cafes and restaurants if you need a break from shopping.
You may have seen people posing for pictures in front of the blue containers on Instagram!
Inside, you'll find big brands like Adidas and Nike, but also trendy boutique shops to satisfy all your shopping needs.
For the brands like Adidas and Nike, the prices are similar to those on their websites with occasional sales. The boutiques on the second floor seemed to have items starting at around 30,000 won.
Don't worry, there's lots of other things to look at besides clothes. There's stores selling household goods, accessories, stationary, and even pet clothes!

Lotte Department Store Konkuk Univ. Branch

If you're in the area, the Lotte Department Store would be a great spot to get your shopping done. It's not as big as some other more famous department stores in Seoul, but you can still find everything you need.
Inside, you'll find three floors and two basement levels of clothing stores, cosmetics, a food court, restaurants, a movie theater, and more.
For clothes, there's a wide range of styles and prices, so there will definitely be something for everyone! The prices are similar to the prices shown on the brands' websites.

M Playground Konkuk Univ. Branch

M Playground is a popular store with many branches around Korea. They are known for having very affordable clothes in the latest trends. Most items are between 10,000 and 30,000 won!
They also have lots of good basics too, so it's a good store to check out if you're in kneed of a plain shirt or sweater. It's a huge store with rows and rows of clothes and accessories. It's great for both guys and girls since there's lots of unisex items.
The girls section and big size section were downstairs. There's so many different styles of clothes, so whether you're looking for sporty, street, or more feminine, you'll find it here. I was tempted to buy something myself!

SiGongGan

SiGongGan is a super popular and easily recognizable jewelry store with other branches in the Hongdae area.
There are shelves upon shelves from floor to ceiling filled with jewelry and other hair accessories. It's a jewelry-lover's paradise! There's almost an overwhelming amount of items and you could spend all day looking through them all.
They have everything from trendy, flashy earrings to simple hoops. The prices start around 10,000 won depending on the material of the jewelry.
In addition to jewelry and accessories, they also sell some clothes. They were color-coordinated, so it was very pleasing to the eye.

The Nine Mall
더나인몰
Right next to Common Ground is The Nine Mall, a cute little stationary and tech accessory store.
The bright white interior makes the store look very clean and all of their products stand out, so it's very easy to look around and find what you want.
Many phone cases were on sale for 11,000 won and cute accessories like hand mirrors and pens are available for under 10,000 won, so it's definitely affordable.
There's so many adorable phone cases, AirPod cases, postcards, stickers, and more. It'll be hard to look around without getting something for yourself!

Street Shopping
There are so many other boutique stores selling products at a wide range of prices along the Konkuk University Food Street by Konkuk University Station Exit 2. You can see the latest trending fashion styles that all the young students are wearing these days. Most stores have clothes that cost between 20,000-50,000 won.
While walking around, I'm sure you'll come across a store you want to check out! It'll be a good way to digest and get some steps in after eating at one of the delicious restaurants nearby.
Space Wadiz

Space Wadiz in Seongsu is described as a "cultural complex" and is unique because all of the products sold are items you can find on wadiz, the largest crowdfunding platform in Korea.
So, all the items in the store are actually crowdfunded products created by many different individuals and start-ups.
Inside, you'll find so many different kinds of products. I was surprised by the wide variety! They had cosmetics, games, food, tech accessories, clothes, and more.
It's hard to give exact prices as the items available change and there are so many different types of products, but the prices I saw range from 10,000 won to 100,000 won. If you are interested to see the types of items and prices available, feel free to check out the wadiz homepage.
It's fun just to look around at all of these new products you won't be able to find anywhere else.
On the second floor, there is also a cafe and little work space and on the third floor, there is a cute rooftop. When there's good weather, it would be nice to relax up there with a cup of coffee.

성수연방
Seongsu Yeonbang, like Space Wadiz, is another hot cultural space in Seongsu. This is a newly reborn space built by renovating an old chemical factory, and there are many unique shops, cafes, and restaurants.
This is Thinggool Store (띵굴스토어) on the first floor. It's a lifestyle shop selling a variety of items from interior decor to cosmetics made with natural ingredients.
You can also look around at many other interesting products and high-quality t-shirts and leather bags. The prices range from fashion socks at 4,500 won to coats for 100,000 won and up.

These are the stores you should visit when in the Seongsu and Konkuk University ares. Since it's a place many young people visit, you'll find lots of cool things and it'll be fun just to look around.
