Seoul Forest
서울숲
Around Seoul Forest, there are many cafes and rental shops from which you can rent a picnic set. Order items from the cafe to-go and bring the picnic set to have a special picnic at Seoul Forest!
The Seoul Forest Management Office has a rental station for Ddareungi, or Seoul City Bikes. Since you can ride a bike in Seoul Forest, it'll be a good way to explore many areas of the forest.
Another interesting thing about Seoul Forest is that you can find deer there too! It's an interesting experience to see the deer grazing leisurely in the middle of a crowded city like Seoul.

Amore Seongsu
아모레 성수
Amore Seongsu is a flagship store for the cosmetics company Amorepacific. They sell their cosmetics products inside, and they also have programs where you can create your own foundation and lip products!
The building has this cool, concrete aesthetic and looks like it's tucked away in a little garden.
You use the tablet to look through different color options and choose a few you want to test out. You can select the finish, color, and choose if you want a scent as well. The staff member kindly assists you by explaining the different colors and will even mix some for you to help you find what matches you the best and create a cool or warm tone.
Unfortunately, because of COVID-19, I couldn't take off my mask to see how the colors would look on, but the worker swatched some colors on my hand for me.
Once you're done, you can even get the lip product engraved and watch it being made in this machine!
The process took about 30 minutes. Because of COVID, only one person is allowed at a time, but once restrictions lift, it would be a fun activity to do with a friend.

Konkuk University Campus
건대 캠퍼스
On Konkuk University campus, there is a very large lake called Ilgamho Lake (일감호). Currently, because of COVID-19, outsiders are restricted from entering, but it will be a nice experience to visit the campus and take a walk along the lake after restrictions are lifted.
Built of red bricks, this old-fashioned building is the Konkuk University Museum. Free viewings are held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every weekday, so you can come here and see various artifacts.

Konkuk University Museum was also used as a filming location for the drama Goblin. Konkuk University often appears as a filming location for Korean dramas because of its beautiful campus. It would be fun to take a walk around Konkuk University and find places that appeared in different dramas.

Children's Grand Park
어린이대공원
Children's Grand Park is very close to Konkuk University and is just one subway stop away from Konkuk University. If you visit this place in spring, you can enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms blooming everywhere.
It's not just a spot to have a picnic, but there are many rides for children to enjoy. I also have memories of visiting and having fun at Children's Grand Park as a child.
Children's Grand Park is smaller than Lotte World and Everland, but it has amusement park rides and a zoo, so there is enough for children to enjoy. In addition, it is less crowded than major amusement parks such as Lotte World and Everland, so you can enjoy it a little more comfortably.

KiLab Board Game Cafe
키랩 보드게임 룸카페
Many Korean university students enjoy going to board game cafes to hang out with friends. Board game cafes are cafes where you can enjoy playing games and eating desserts or drinking coffee at the same time.
There are so many different board games available, so you won't have time to feel bored! Once you order a drink at the counter, you can play any game you want.
We played the popular Rummikub, and had so much fun, we didn't even realize time was passing! Inside the cafe, there are rooms that can accommodate different amounts of people, from groups of two to eight, so you can enjoy board games privately without being disturbed.

There are little photobooth studios all around the Seongsu and Konkuk University areas. This remains a popular activity among young Korean people.
The booths take your photo automatically and you get a little strip with four pictures. There are many props you can use, like funny hats, cute headbands, and sunglasses.
Normally, the prices at these studios are around 4,000 won for two strips and the whole process is super quick. Just make sure to strike a pose when the timer counts down and create some great memories!

Ttukseom Han River Park
뚝섬 한강공원![seoul korea ttukseom han river park]()
There are many parks by the Han River, which flows through Seoul. The one closest to Seongsu and Konkuk University is the Ttukseom Han River Park.
The park is close to subway Line 7 Ttukseom Resort Station. Don't get it confused with Ttukseom Station on Line 2!
There is a skateboard park at Ttukseom Han River Park where anyone can practice skateboarding. You can also see expert skateboarders practicing tricks. There's also a free climbing wall and bike paths, so I really recommend it to those who like to exercise.
