Our Visit 

Before we get the review started, I have to talk about the ingredients used at You Are Here. All the bread and pastries are home-baked with Beurre d'Isigny, a premium French butter. The owner said that there are no other cafes that use such high-quality butter in Myeongdong. Also, the chocolate is imported from Switzerland, Belgium, and France. French Valrhona chocolate is mainly used. You can tell that they use premium ingredients from the taste of each item, it is worth every penny. With a bite of the plain butter cookie, you already know how much effort they put to bring you the best quality at You Are Here.

Brunch (available from 08:00 until sold out, ends at 15:00 ~ 16:00 on average)

We tried out the 2 most popular You Are Here Brunch sets: Croque monsieur set (back) and Egg Toast set (front, discontinued). Each set comes with a cup of Americano (iced or hot) and fresh green salad with balsamic dressing. You can top up to change to any beverage on the menu.
Other options: Croissant Sandwich Set, Caprese Salad Set.

*Drinks can be changed with additional fees. (ex. 4,000 KRW Americano can be switched to 7,000 KRW strawberry juice by paying the difference of 3,000 KRW)

The cheesy topping on a Croque monsieur is always the best. They use olive toast bread which goes well with cheese for the Croque monsieur. This will definitely win the hearts of cheese lovers.

The cup of hot Americano that is complimentary with the brunch set, tastes surprisingly nice! It doesn't have too much acidity and has a strong aroma of fragrant coffee, perfect for a cold day. 

Among the various items on the menu, I also ordered some fruit tarts because fresh fruit in Korea never disappoints. It is freshly baked every morning and ready to be served at around 10:00 - 10:30. Try to get them fresh because that is when they are the best!

The fig treat is my personal favorite as it is made with figs grown in Korea so freshness is guaranteed. It has a good portion on fig on the tart, about 1 and a half figs. The slight tartness of the figs and creamy custard combined with the crunchy tart base is phenomenal, what more could you ask for?

Winter Special: Chocolate Fondue

There is a seasonal menu available in the colder seasons, the Chocolate Fondue. All of the crackers and cookies are home-baked with a nice clean taste of butter that goes well with the dark chocolate. After I dip one and tried it, I realized how important the origin of chocolate is. It was not too sweet but had a luxurious taste of dark chocolate. 

The chocolate fondue is highly recommended to enhance the winter vibes of your journey in Seoul. The pictures above show a serving size for one, which is good enough to share and leave yourself some space for other snacks. Let's have a look at the environment of this satisfying cafe to wrap up.

Of course, the now trendy, modern cafe is great but sometimes you need to take a step back and go to a place like You Are Here, where they focus on taste. You Are Here puts all its focus on how they can provide the best taste with the best ingredients rather than having a flashy appearance without substance. If you are a foodie like us, stop by this cafe. 

How to Get There 

You can exit from Euljiro 1-ga Station on Line 2 or from Myeongdong station on Line 4. 

From Line 2, Euljiro 1-ga Station: 

Exit from exit 5 or 6. Go to the Starbucks on the right of Exit 5 to reach the same exit. 

Go towards the statues and the Olleh KT Telecom. Go through the alley next to KT then turn right.

You Are Here is right behind the trees (public resting area). 

From Line 4, Myeongdong Station

Go all the way straight down from Exit 6 towards the shopping district ( towards the direction of Nature Republic).

Walk past LLOYD and go towards Myeongdong Theatre and go towards Hi Pharmacy, where you will see the You Are Here cafe.
