Our Visit

Isaac Toast & Coffee is Korea's number 1 toast brand which started all the way back in 1995 as a sole proprietorship and later expanded to more than 800 branches around the nation as of 2019. When you're roaming around the streets of Korea, you'll probably see a couple around you.

We visited the Myeongdong Cathedral Branch, which is a convenient 3-minute walk from Myeong-dong Station. It is located in the center of Myeongdong, a very popular tourist attraction, so it's the perfect place to stop by during your sightseeing to catch a little break and fill up your stomach.

Isaac Toast usually has a couple of seating areas inside and a big counter where you can order take-out. Since the Myeongdong Cathedral Branch is only a take-out store, many customers quickly order and eat freshly made toast while moving to their next destination.

There are chairs in front of the store which allow you to sit outside and enjoy your food.

Let's take a look at the menu! There are affordable toasts and drinks that start at only 2,000~3,000 won. In addition to Korean, the menu is also available in English, Japanese, and Chinese. Each item on the menu is also labeled as a number so you can easily order the number. Since there are many foreign customers, the store made it convenient to order as a foreigner.

Once you have decided what you would like to eat, you can order at the counter.This branch is one of the most popular branches so even though I visited at 2:30 pm on a weekday, there were still a couple of customers waiting for their orders. Please be mindful that there may be lines here during the breakfast or lunch rushes. The staff here can communicate in English, Japanese, and Chinese so you can easily order even if you can't speak Korean.

Another thing to note is that you cannot eat or drink at the counter. You can use the chairs that are outside if you would like to sit and enjoy your food.

Each ingredient is sandwiched between two pieces of toast, so you can enjoy it as if it was a regular sandwich or a hamburger. If you cut it in half, all the ingredients in the middle will fall out and make a mess, so the store does not cut the toast in half. Instead, they provide a plastic cutting knife you can use if you prefer to cut your sandwich. 

After asking the staff for their recommendations, we ordered the bacon potato pizza toast, which seemed to be the most popular. It took us less than 10 minutes for them to make our order and receive it so we were very happy with the short wait time. This may not always be the case if the store gets busier.

Take subway line 4 towards Myeong-dong Station and walk out of exit 8.

Enter the alley between Olive Young and TOUS Les JOURS and walk straight.
