Please be polite inside the cathedral.
1. Take off your hat and sunglasses (do not put them on your head)
2. No slippers
3. Avoid short skirts and sleeveless tops.
4. Do not enter through both doors (only exit is allowed)
5. Consumption of food and drinks inside the cathedral is prohibited.
6. No eating or drinking one hour before Holy Communion.

I've been to a lot of cathedrals overseas, but today is the first time I've been to Myeongdong Cathedral in Korea. ^^
A lot of foreigners come here even though it is a weekday.

Myeongdong Cathedral, located near Myeongdong Station. It is a cathedral with a very long history in Korea. The building of Myeongdang Cathedral is magnificent, elaborate, and pretty. If you come to Myeongdong, it would be meaningful to see mass.

The cathedral is so grand, elaborate, and so pretty that it's hard to believe it was built in 1898. It seems very similar to Tyn Church, a famous landmark in the Czech Republic. Personally, I think this place is pretty to see during the day, but the night view is really cool. As many people know, the night view of Myeongdong Cathedral during the Christmas season is especially fun to see with many LED lights shining brightly. However, it is not recommended to come on Christmas Day or Eve because there will be too many people. After experiencing hell once, I visited a week before Christmas during the Christmas season, and there weren't that many people, so I was able to leisurely look around. We recommend visiting 1-2 weeks before Christmas. And although people don't know it as well as you might think, you can look at the exterior of Myeongdong Cathedral and then go down to the basement through the entrance near the statue of the Virgin Mary. You can also enjoy your time here as there are many shops and cafes there.

After visiting Seoul, I had some free time, so I was lucky enough to attend the 9 o'clock mass. The 9 o'clock Sunday Mass is in English, so I had a great experience attending the English Mass. Perhaps because of the large number of believers, mass is held every hour, and I liked that it seemed to be held at a speed similar to that of a military cathedral in order to prepare for the next mass. The interior was really pretty and there was a huge organ near the entrance.
