Tour Information
Imjingak
Imjingak is a symbolic security tourism site where you can experience both the reality of Korea’s division and the hope for reunification. Facilities and relics from the war are well preserved here, making it one of the best places for foreign travelers to easily understand the history of the DMZ. During holidays, you can also see people paying respects while thinking of their hometowns in the North, making this a special place where you can feel both the painful history and the current reality of the Korean Peninsula.
The 3rd Tunnel
The 3rd Tunnel is an underground tunnel that was secretly constructed by North Korean forces as an infiltration route for a potential invasion, and was discovered in 1978. It is a representative historical site that illustrates the tense situation on the Korean Peninsula after the Korean War. Today, it is open to tourists, allowing visitors to explore the tunnel firsthand and gain a deeper understanding of the Korean War and the history of the DMZ.
Dora Observatory
Dora Observatory is the northernmost observatory, located just 1.5 km from the Military Demarcation Line. This area, which was once part of the Demilitarized Zone, has been opened to the public, making it a place of special significance. The newly built observatory, completed in 2018, offers a wider view and modernized facilities, allowing for easier observation of North Korean territory. You can see not only the DMZ, but also Kaesong city, the Kaesong Industrial Complex, North Korean propaganda villages, and even Mount Songak right before your eyes, giving you a firsthand experience of the reality of the Korean Peninsula.
Tongilchon (Unification Village)
Tongilchon Village is a unique community where 40 households of discharged soldiers from across the country and 40 households of displaced people have settled together. It is a special place where the reality of division and the hope for peace coexist. Once you pass through the checkpoint, you’ll find wide open fields and tranquil rural scenery, creating such a peaceful atmosphere that it’s hard to believe you’re near the DMZ.

O-ak refers to mountains renowned for their beautiful and impressive scenery. From the summit, you can take in sweeping views of the Imjingang River and even Songak Mountain in Gaeseong, North Korea.
