89 Mansion, a cafe most well-renowned as Lee Jong-suk's cafe situated in the posh neighbourhood of Sinsadong, announced its closure on the actor's birthday (September 14) on its official Instagram page.

The cafe/restaurant, designed and decorated by the actor himself, was often visited by K-celebrities close to Lee Jong-suk. It has also been a must-visit destination among K-drama fans who love the actor and his works.

89 Mansion has also participated in many 'trailer supports', a coffee truck that's served at a shooting location to show support for an actor, K-pop star or director by serving beverages, food and desserts. Many will surely miss its aesthetic, delicious desserts and drinks, and its whimsical atmosphere.

The announcement made on 89 Mansion's official Instagram page is paraphrased as below:

"Hello.

We come with sad news today.

As the pandemic has been ongoing long-term, we're sure many people have suffered from it. Our venue has not been able to operate normally in a while either.

We're sorry that we closed our doors on many days.

We know to many of you 89 Mansion means more than just a cafe, so we tried to look for ways to keep it going. However, when faced with the reality, the whole staff have decided to put an end to 89 Mansion following long meetings and persuasions.

89 Mansion will be ending its journey on September 14th.

We'll cherish the memories of the last 4 years of this space, which has been our dreams, and come back sometime in the future.
