Waveon Coffee, built on the cliff, offers a breathtaking view of the ocean from any angle.
Waveon Coffee is a work by Kwak Hee Soo, one of the most renowned architects in Korea. The beautiful architecture has won the Korean Architecture Awards.
Aside from the famous view and architecture, Waveon Coffee is also well-known for its premium coffee. The company also operates a variety of coffee-related businesses, including green bean imports, coffee bean delivery, supplying coffee machines, etc.

The Cafe
The 4-storey building is located along Busan's dazzling Imlang Beach.
From its very entrance, we can see why Waveon Coffee's building is an award-winning architecture standing on the shoreline of Busan.
Ordering a drink per person is mandatory at Waveon Coffee. Upon ordering drinks, customers can enter the venue.
Their extensive selection of desserts is also a great pairing with their coffee!
1st Floor
The first floor is comprised of its main counter and outdoor seating area with bean bags and benches perfect for lounging.
Look at how many orders are being completed at once!
Waveon Coffee is normally packed with visitors.
2nd Floor
On the other side of the counter, you'll find stairs that lead up to the second floor, where the indoor seating area begins.
Before you reach the second floor, you'll find a small area to the side of the stairs where you can sit comfortably and relax.
The floor-to-ceiling windows boast a panoramic view of the Busan ocean.
The table in the middle of the second floor is big enough to host a large group!

Another area of the second floor is used to seat smaller groups of 2-4, all with the emerald ocean view.
3rd Floor
Make your way up to the 3rd floor and you'll first see the indoor area with more tables and chairs which align with Waveon Coffee's white and blue theme.
The Outdoor Terraces On The 3rd & 4th Floors
The terraces are where you'll find amazing places to sit back and feel the ocean breezes.
They offer a 360-degree panoramic view of the ocean through the frameless glass railings.
*Children are not allowed on 3rd and 4th floors due to safety concerns.

Evening comes, the venue gets lit up with dim lights.
The most popular item bought for gifting is the Full Moon Coffee.
The name represents Waveon's cold brew that is aged for long long nights.
The appealing package and the deep coffee flavour seem to make this a great gift!
I ordered cold brew, caffe latte, tiramisu and chocolate cake.
I saw on the 1st terrace and watched the night ocean waves while sipping on my coffee.
There's an area with an array of bean bags too. You get a nice view of the ocean no matter where you sit so take your pick!
There are also detached private buildings from the cafe. These buildings are free to use to purchasing customers.
To sign up:
1. Inform them you'd like to sign up right when you receive your drinks.
2. One drink order per person is mandatory.
3. 2 hours maximum per group.
4. Waiting may occur depending on circumstances.
Once you sign up for the private building, they'll give you a bad that looks like this. You go outside of the cafe, then follow the blue line on the ground which leads you to their private buildings!
Each building has a different interior. The photos don't do justice! They all have their own cozy vibes and have air conditioning and heating installed.

How To Get There

Directions: Come out of Ilgwang station exit 1, go straight, make a left, then go straight again.
You'll reach 'Donghae Line - Ilgwang station(Donghaesun Ilgwangyuk)' bus stop.
Take bus 9 and get off at 'Gijang City Management Corporation(gijang munhwa yejuhlhak)" and walk the opposite direction for about 3 minutes to reach the cafe.

You'll see Waveon Coffee after a short walk!
Waveon Coffee is not easily accessible via public transportation so I recommend taking a taxi from Ilgwang station(about ￦8-9,000). Most Korean visitors take a taxi from the station too! 🚕
