Korean Convenience Store Must-Buys : GS25

1. GS25 Crab Paste

Must-Buys at Korean Convenience Stores (GS25, CU, 7 Eleven)

Exclusively sold in GS25, you have to try the GS25 Crab Paste which is an amazing combination if you eat it together with microwaveable rice. Once you taste it you will never be able to forget it.

2. GS25 Fire Gimbap

Must-Buys at Korean Convenience Stores (GS25, CU, 7 Eleven)

The Samyang Fire Noodle series is available at any convenience store but the Fire Gimbap is only available at GS25! Want to experience a unique spicy gimbap? Come to GS25 and give it a try!

3. GS25 Watermelon Soju

Must-Buys at Korean Convenience Stores (GS25, CU, 7 Eleven)

The new Watermelon Soju released by GS25 has a faint red color. The taste is also not as heavy as regular soju with a sweet smell of watermelon juice as well. Come to GS25 and give it a try!

4. GS25 Omori Kimchi Stew Ramen

Must-Buys at Korean Convenience Stores (GS25, CU, 7 Eleven)

The Omori Kimchi Stew Ramen is made by GS25's own brand and the taste is similar to actual Kimchi Stew. I was actually surprised the first time I had this because the taste was so similar to the actual Kimchi Stew that I thought it was just Kimchi Stew and not ramen!

5. Kakao Juice

Must-Buys at Korean Convenience Stores (GS25, CU, 7 Eleven)

At GS25 there are 3 Kakao Friends drinks. All 3 drinks are juice with the flavors of Apple, Mango, and Kiwi. The design of the bottle is very unique and attractive. I saw many people come buy all 3 drinks at once proving that it is very popular.

6. Popular Idol Sandwich

Must-Buys at Korean Convenience Stores (GS25, CU, 7 Eleven)

GS25 recently released this product called the Popular Idol Sandwich which is said to mimic the taste of sandwiches Kpop Idol's eat. Other convenience store brands started to release sandwich brands following the release of this sandwich. It tastes really good so give it a try!

Korean Convenience Store Must-Buys : CU

Before I introduce CU Convenience Store products, I think it is important for you to know that CU's strength lies in their dessert products. So if you want to taste delicious desserts at a cheap price, go to CU!

1. CU Soft Chocolate Cake

Must-Buys at Korean Convenience Stores (GS25, CU, 7 Eleven)

The CU Soft Chocolate Cake has chocolate lave in the middle making it flow out when taking a bite. The bread itself is really soft making it delicious. Make sure to check it out!

2. CU Chocolate Fondue Rice Cake

Must-Buys at Korean Convenience Stores (GS25, CU, 7 Eleven)

The Chocolate Fondue Rice Cake is known to have a sweet dark devil's taste as you can't stop eating it. Buying a box of this is perfect to eat as a snack together with your friends.

3. CU Lotus Biscoff Cream Cake

Must-Buys at Korean Convenience Stores (GS25, CU, 7 Eleven)

The CU Lotus Biscoff Cream Cake is a taste I can never forget. The cream cake topped off with the Lotus Biscuit adds a perfect finishing touch and with a price of just 3,000KRW it is such a cost efficient dessert when comparing it to other cakes sold elsewhere.

4. CU Fire Dumplings

Must-Buys at Korean Convenience Stores (GS25, CU, 7 Eleven)

This is another variation of the Samyang Fire Noodle series but the CU Fire Dumplings is only sold at CU. The level of spiciness matches the GS25 Fire Gimbap with a slightly more expensive price than the Fire Dumplings.

5. CU Mochi Roll

Must-Buys at Korean Convenience Stores (GS25, CU, 7 Eleven)

This CU Mochi Roll has been a long-lasting product of the CU Convenience Store. The Mochi Roll is paired with a thick sweet sauce in the middle making just a bite of it bring a huge satisfaction. There are four flavors (Green Tea, Cream Cheese, Tiramisu, Chocolate) so give each a try and see which flavor you like the most!

Korean Convenience Store Must-Buys : 7 Eleven

Although 7 Eleven is located in other countries, South Korea's 7 Eleven is also highly specialized. However, when comparing 7 Eleven to GS25 and CU, there are not that many products that are solely sold at 7 Eleven.

7 Eleven Kakao Lunch Box

Must-Buys at Korean Convenience Stores (GS25, CU, 7 Eleven)

Starting May, South Korea's 7 Eleven has relied on the Kakao Lunch Box to attract customers from its competitors of GS25 and CU.

Although GS25 and CU may be popular, there are still a lot of good products sold at 7 Eleven and the Kakao Lunch Box has been a popular selling steadily and launching new variations.

Every convenience store has different must-buy products. In addition to these products, there are also many common products that can be bought in any of the three convenience store brands. Make sure you give each store a try when you come to Korea.
