Things to Keep In Mind

There is a "Setting up the table" cost. Regardless of the cost of the meat, the "Setting up the table" cost is 2,000KRW per adult and 1,000KRW per child (Under the age of 13) and should be paid on the spot and is not included in the set price.

The following product can only be purchased in sets. Ordering by portion is not available.

A reservation on the day of is possible but please make your reservation at least 4 hours before your reservation time.

Refunds and reservation cancellations are available up to 3 days before the reservation date.

Our Visit 

Dongdaemun Meat Restaurant has been in the same place for 47 years since 1972 and has a very rich history. You can enjoy delicious pork belly and Korean beef at a cheap price that is hard to find anywhere in Seoul!

The reason why they are able to offer various cuts of meat at a very cheap price is that they don't go through the middle steps and bring the meat right away from the producer. This is why you can enjoy fresh and delicious meat at a price cheaper than other Korean BBQ restaurants.

The inside of the restaurant looks exactly like a traditional Korean BBQ restaurant. Coming to a traditional Korean restaurant made me feel at ease as it was a familiar environment.  

The moment you order, the owner of the restaurant cuts the meat on the spot.

Dongdaemun Meat Restaurant says they only buy meat from the best quality Korean Beef and Pork. Coming to this place in person and seeing the whole process makes me trust them even more!  

The "Setting up the table" cost is 2,000 KRW per adult, so take this into account. This cost includes various basic side dishes to eat alongside the meat.

(It is common for restaurants that offer meat at a very cheap price to require the "Setting up the table" cost)

We ordered the Small VIP Beef Set (95,000 KRW) on one table and the Small Assorted Pork Set (36,000 KRW) on the other table.

The Small VIP Beef Set is 450g and is enough for three women to eat until they are full, and the Small Assorted Pork Set is 600g and is more than enough for four people to eat. You can try various interesting meat parts as well.

In the beginning, the employee of the restaurant comes around and explains how to cook and eat the meat, and cooks the first batch of meat for you. Learn carefully and when the employee leaves, you can enjoy the rest of the meat according to your preference. They are really fluent in Chinese so they will kindly respond in Chinese if you ask them in Chinese.

To eat this high-quality Korean beef in Seoul at a restaurant you usually have to pay 40,000KRW~60,000 KRW per portion (150g). If you order through Creatrip you can enjoy this high-quality Korean beef for just 30,000 KRW per portion (150g)! 

At first, when I heard this I thought that the quality of the meat will be bad as the price was so cheap but when I came and ate it in person it was so good that the meat melted in my mouth!

Not only is the Korean Beef of the Dongdaemun Meat Restaurant good but also the Korean Pork offered is good. You can try various parts ranging from pork belly to pork diaphragm meat.

The pork jowl was the tastiest to me out of all the pork parts. The outside was crispy with a chewy inside so it disappeared inside my mouth as soon as I took a bite! 

When coming to Korean BBQ restaurants, people usually eat the meat together with lettuce and ssamjang. There are various other methods to enjoy tasty meat besides this!

The first method is similar to the lettuce wrap but uses cabbage leaf instead with spicy and slightly sour green onion mix to enjoy the meat. If the cabbage leaf is too big for you to eat, it is tasty to just eat the meat with the spicy and sour green onion mix.  

The second method is to wrap the meat in a side dish called 'Myeongei Namul'.

If you wrap it up as beautifully as shown in the photo above, you will be able to taste a new flavor! It helps with the greasy taste of the meat, almost like a pickle, so you can constantly eat the meat. My foreign friends like to eat the meat like this the most so I am sure you will too!   

Lastly, is to eat the meat with Naengmyeon (Korean Cold Noodles). There is almost no one that dislikes this menu even in Korea so a lot of people enjoy eating it. If you order the Beef or Pork Set at the Dongdaemun Meat Restaurant they offer the Naengmyeon at 5,000 KRW. The Seokkeo Naengmyeon (Mixed Korean Cold Noodles) mixed with the Mul Naengmyeon (Korean Cold Noodles with broth) and Bibim Naengmyeon (Mixed Korean Cold Noodles) is really good!

I was able to eat high-quality meat at a cheap price and fill my stomach today. I am going to make sure to come here to Dongdaemun Meat Restaurant the next time I want to eat meat.

If you come out of Exit 6 of Dongdaemun Station and go to the back side of the exit, you will be able to see KFC.

If you go into the alley where KFC is you will be able to see Dongdaemun Meat Restaurant right next to CU convenience store.
