Paju Heyri Art Valley Museums | Visit

1. Korean Story Museum

The stories of those who sacrificed their lives for Korea.

The first section is dedicated to Korean folk tales.

The area is a miniature representation of Korean folk tale narratives. It's small but so realistic.

After the folk tales, you get to the historical events section of the museum.

The 3.1 Protest during the Japanese colonial era that was decisive in letting the world know about Korea's wish for independence.

The Malmoi Movement to defend the Korean language.

People running for refuge during the Korean War.

The Korean War Armistice Agreement between North Korea and the UN.

The recent meeting between the North's Kim Jeong-Un and the South's President Moon Jae-In.

Because the museum was made with the help of history expert "Sul Minseok," the stories of Korea's past are fully portrayed. For those interested in Korea's history, I'd highly recommend visiting this museum.

2. Miniature Museum

A world-class minature museum made by an international collaboration of artists.

The entranced to the Miniature Museum is decorated by cute music box soldiers.

A music box piece showing the lifetime of a person.

A hundred-year-old music box titled "Pigeon and girl."

Music boxes of cities that we live in.

All the music boxes tell a story about the era and the culture. From a scene about the human lifetime, a nativity scene, scenes about the first bread being made, to music boxes that are over a 100 years old, there are so many different exhibitions to browse through.

Smoker dolls used as an air freshener in Europe.

There are real nut crackers displayed like from the Nut Cracker fairy tale. These nut crackers are all made from the German village Seiffen.

At the end of this display, there are is this one really cute nut cracker from Norway. Come see it for yourself.

A diorama of familiar fairy tales.

These dolls cost more than 30 million KRW (a very rare exhibition).

Ball jointed dolls.

A gift from the world-renowned doll maker Branka Scharli. The founder of the museum apparently made a trip all the way to Swiss to personally ask for a contribution (Scharli does not sell to just anyone).

Other miniatures on exhibit.
There's a lot to see, and it's very worth your time and ticket!

There's also a gift shops with various products,

and a lot of locations to take cute pictures.

There's even a place that replicates Korean military dorms. I went to the military as well, so I can attest to its accuracy.

You can try on the military uniforms on the left for free!

You can also try shooting a rifle for 3,000 KRW. It's not as hard as you'd think, I'd recommend it.

It's popular enough that one popular Korean TV show, "Running Man," had visited recently.

There are so much to see and eat at Paju Heyri Village other than these museums. Come see the Korean stories, and the miniature exhibitions!
