Among Korean cuisines, gopchang is at the top of the list of the foods you must try. There are gopchang restaurants everywhere, so which one should you visit?

Today, we will introduce you the「Sinchon Gopchang」, which is loved by the local office workers. It was in business for more than 60 years and on every night, the place is still full.

Although the price is not cheap, the lively atmosphere and the taste is worth much more than the price. Next time you visit Jonggak area you should definitely try this place out!

There are lots of offices nearby Jonggak and "Sinchon Hwangso Gopchang" is the local gourmets that office workers love. They come here to eat and drink after a hard days' work.

Every dinner, it's full of people. Especially on weekends it is crowded and need to wait for a while. It makes you wonder, what makes this place so special?

Basic table set doesn't have kimchi which is most common menu, but they serve lettuce, beef omasum(천엽) and liver. They are all fresh so you don't need to worry about the safety of the food. 

If you are reluctant to try raw meat, you can cook them before eating. Omasum (천엽) is chewy, and the texture of liver is quite dense. It is better to eat them with alcohol.

Another special point of Hwangso Gopchang is that they put lots of leeks on the pot so the flavor is not as heavy as expected. It goes very well with the gopchang.

The staff will come over to cut the meat in right size and heat the pan. The oil from the meat will be absorbed by the leeks, making the plate rich in aroma and taste.

Wait until the meat is well roasted with golden color you can prepare to start eating. The plate will be soon full of roasted gopchang! Just watching this arouses your appetite.

In addition to the meat, "Sinchon Hwangso Gopchang" puts plenty of onion, potato, tripe, and so on. The whole pot looks so good with delicious aroma, and it is impossible to resist.

Because the store will give refills on leeks. If you need more, you can just ask the staff to add some more and fry it again.

Look at this color! It just reminds you of the smell just by looking at a photo. Without putting any additional water the pot is full of oil that came out of the the meat and leeks. The oil from the gopchang fries the whole pot.  

Soju, beer and mouthful of gopchang is the best local dinner you can get. The atmosphere is lively and festive you will definitely enjoy the evening. 

If you have almost finished eating, you can order fried rice. They will use the remaining oil to fry a delicious pot of rice, which completes a perfect meal. 

There are gopchang stores everywhere in Seoul, but this place has been here for so long, and people still love this place for a reason. If you have a chance to come around you should try out "Sinchon Hwangso Gopchang".
