Before getting in to the shopping, let us give an overview of Paju's geographical location. It is located in Gyeonggi-do, and is one of the South Korean cities in closest proximity to North Korea. It is also a part of the armistice line, the Panmunjom (where the Korean armistice agreement was signed) and where the freedom road passes. Gyeonggi-do plays an important role on the Korean Peninsula.
