Gyeongbokgung Bakery : Gyeongbokgung-Bbang | Photo Reviews

Recently, I went to the Gyeongbokgung Palace because I heard a new bakery has opened!
When I hear about a new trend, I always want to be one of the early birds!

When I arrived, there were too many customers, so I waited a little outside. The majority of the customers were foreigners, and very few were Koreans.
That's probably because the bread shaped like the Gyeongbokgung Palace is only sold here. Foreigners all bought the bread as a souvenir set.

The interior was certainly not large. But I did not feel frustrated because of the very high ceiling.
It seems that most of the customers buy bread and leave right away, instead of sitting and relaxing.

The interior of the bakery was designed in a traditional Gyeongbokgung Palace style. Even from the bakery's name, Gyeongbokgung-bbang, you can assume that they had Gyeongbokgung in mind. This bakery was designed for foreingers to buy Gyeongbokgung bread as a souvenir.

Gyeongbokgung-bbang can be bought in boxes of 4 pieces, 8 pieces.
If you are a member of Creatrip, you can get a free piece of Gyeongbokgung Bread if you buy the 8 piece set.
If you want to buy this bread as a Seoul souvenir, I recommend you to buy them on the last day of your trip.

The free piece can treat you on your way to Gyeongbokgung Palace, and the remaining 8 pieces can go home with you. When you return home, put it in the freezer immediately and thaw it before you eat it. And if you lightly grill the bread on a frying pan, it will taste just like the freshly made Gyeongbokgung Bread. It's a tip!

I ordered freshly baked Gyeongbokgung Bread (2,500KRW) and Americano (3,000KRW).

The bread of Gyeongbok Palace was different from other fish-shaped buns sold in the streets. The Gyeongbokgung bread was made with starch and tapioca, so the texture was so good. Inside, there were plenty of red beans and walnuts, so it was crunchy and chewy at the same time. I could really feel the walnut crunch from my first bite to my last, which means that there were a lot of walnuts inside. The Gyeongbokgung bread was about the size of my palm, so I felt really full after eating only one.

When I told the boss that I was surprised that there were so many walnuts inside, she kindly showed me the baking process Gyeongbokgung bread!
I saw so many walnuts go inside with my own eyes! She even puts in plenty of red bean.
She said that if she puts in small amount of ingredients, it leaves a bad impression of Korea. She's very sweet and generous.

Because it hasn't been long since they opened this bakery, there was an Instagram SNS opening event. There are many photo spots for SNS inside the bakery.
If you take a picture of Gyeongbokgung bread and upload it on Instagram, you can get a free Americano. Of course, Creatrip members can receive this advantage, too.

As the prince (?) had his mouth opened, I tried to feed the bread to him.

I bought 8 pieces and gave it out to my friends. One bread was big enough to fill their stomachs and everyone loved it.

I am proud to inform you of the souvenir Gyeongbokgung Bread that you MUST-BUY before returning home.

Next time we will find a new must-have souvenir and come back! Then we'll see you again!
