After the grand opening in 2018, [1890 Namsan Valley Night Market] started without notice in 2019. It will be open until the end of October. Come and enjoy the Korean culture experience. It is one of my favorite night market in Seoul.

If you walk for a minute, you will see the whole market in your sight. The venue is not very large, and it is filled with people. Hanok Village also separates booths by their character. It is nothing like shopping mall and you will smell a strong smell of smoke instantly.
Namsan Valley Night Market has done a good job decorating the place, making you feel as if you have time traveled to 1890s. But, don't worry the market people speak little English and many foreign tourists have visited and enjoyed the experience.
Many traditional foods and special dishes are sold here at the market. They are a little different from the Bamdokkaebi Night Market. They are easier to enjoy and I liked it better than any other night market foods.
The scene is very lively, with so many people. Organizers have set up tables and chairs, so you comfortably enjoy. Even if all the seats are taken you can sit on the stairs and sideways to rest your legs. Don't worry about getting too tired.
Namsan Valley Night Market merchants mostly receive only cash. You'd better prepare enough cash to enjoy all the foods. If you are thirsty you can find vending machines or buy drinks from the nearby subway station.
One of the most popular booth is a jewelry booth. They not only have Korean ornament, but jewelries from all over the world. You can take a look around and find your favorite scarves, ornaments or couple souvenirs. You can ask the merchant and they will most kindly help you.
With the Korean classic music coming out, you will feel like you are in the old Korea.
After you get through the Namsan valley Night Market you will reach the Hanok village on the back. You can take a glimpse of the old traditional Korean architecture. Even at night, it is open, but there are no staffs and not enough lightning. However it feels very warm and cozy around these old houses.
As you can see if the door is not closed you can visit any traditional hanok. There are also ancient items placed on the scene. You can see that many locals also visit the place to enjoy the sightseeing.
Although, in the photos these Hanoks look bright, they are actually quite dark. Also keep in mind that you can take the pictures from out side but you are forbidden to enter the rooms.
If you take a stroll to the opposite side you can reach the lake behind the stage. It is really beautiful and quiet. Me and my friends take a rest around here before getting back at the market.
Compared with other night markets in South Korea, Namsan Valley Night Market is most beautiful and also affordable. If you are done with the shopping, must visit Hanok Village to experience the different night scenery.
