Unlike Seoul which is busy and fast paced, Jeju Island is a chill place to enjoy leisurely activities and is also romantic. What do you think of when thinking about Jeju Island? In addition to the famous Jeju Tangerines, it would be the beautiful cafes.

Although I don't know when Jeju Island started to have many unique cafes, there are a lot of beautiful cafes on the island where they have amazing scenic views where people enjoy taking photos as well as good drinks and food.

Jeju Island Cafes : 1. Cafe Bomnal (카페 봄날)

• Address : 25, Aewol-ro 1-gil, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju
• Hours : 09:00 - 21:00

The first cafe to be introduced is a place where the Korean drama "Warm and Cozy" was filmed. Located on the seashore of Jeju Island, if you enjoy the ocean and look forward to drink coffee feeling the ocean breeze come here.

Although the cafe is not that big, it is spacious enough to be comfortable. The cafe is designed with wooden tables and chairs with a great view of the ocean making it suitable for pictures to be taken.

Cafe Bomnal mainly serves coffee but they also have other simple desserts for you to eat. If you don't want to eat a full meal but want to enjoy the ocean view, coming to Cafe Bomnal will be a great choice for you.

There are also some seats by the ocean and if you open the window from inside you can enjoy the ocean breeze as well. They also have outdoor seats so you can choose which seat you want to sit at and enjoy your time here at Jeju Island.

Jeju Island Cafes : 2. Cafe Banong (카페 바농)

I recommend Cafe Banong to everyone as it is not a regular cafe as you can also handmake dolls while drinking coffee here of cute pony dolls. This cafe matches the atmosphere associated with Jeju Island being chill and fun.

In addition to various types of coffee, Cafe Banong has various fruit drinks that you can choose from and the majority of the fruits are locally produced in Jeju Island making it really fresh.

In addition to all these drinks, they also serve rare Indian drinks such as Lassi which is an Indian drink made from handmade yogurt and milk making it one of my favorite drinks.

Jeju Island Cafes : 3. Bong's Farmer (봉스파머)

This cafe is a hidden cafe in Jeju Island that is perfect for those who love going on an adventure!

The owner of the cafe is a young couple which transformed this space that was once a warehouse into a cafe. They also grow and sell various produce such as oranges and sell dishes such as pork cutlet.

When it becomes winter and you come to this cafe, you will feel a unique beauty that only this cafe has as it will feel as if you are the only person in this world as the surroundings of the cafe are covered in white snow. The interior that is also simple and cozy such as the stone walls and wooden gates make it feel like you are at home and is a one of a kind cafe.

If you want to eat Jeju Tangerines, you can also come to this cafe and buy them. Jeju Tangerines are very famous not only in Jeju Island but also around the country and the world. Don't forget to buy a few tangerines before you leave.

Although it was winter when I went in the past, If you come during the spring you can comfortably enjoy the beautiful scenery of Jeju Island from this cafe. Have a cup of coffee or a dish of pork cutlet and make unforgettable memories here.

Jeju Island Cafes : 4. Innisfree Green Cafe (이니스프리 제주 하우스)

Anyone who is interested in Korean beauty will know about Innisfree (Natural Cosmetics Brand made from Jeju Island's natural ingredients). They have opened a beauty and skin care store in Jeju Island called Innisfree Green Cafe so come check it out.

There are many products here that you can try and experience at the Innisfree Jeju House at the Innisfree Green Cafe.

You cannot miss the Innisfree Green Cafe as the drinks and food are all made from fresh organic ingredients from Jeju Island. Come here and take a beautiful walk around the cafe while eating some delicious dessert and go back buying beautiful cosmetic products on the way back.

Jeju Island Cafes : 5. Gujwa Sanghoe (구좌상회)

• Hours : 10:30 - 18:30 ; Public Holiday Every Tuesday

Gujwa Sanghoe is a famous cafe in Jeju Island as you can see the beautiful landscape of the seaside at Gujwa. There are also many cafes here and so the road Gujwa Sanghoe is located in is often called the Jeju Island Coffee Street.

This cafe will give you a strong retro feeling as it was a traditional Jeju Island house before it became a cafe. The decoration and furniture also keep in line with the retro design and so if you have a cup of coffee here in the afternoon you will feel like you are back in the old days.

The cakes here at Gujwa Sanghoe are famous and the plates the cakes are served on vary between the shape of each cake. It is so beautiful that you will be taking photos of it when it is served.

Experience great food at a strong retro themed cafe and feel as if you are back in old times here at Gujwa Sanghoe at Jeju Island.

Jeju Island Cafes : 6. Cafe Shwimpyo (카페 쉼표)

• Hours : July, August 09:30 - 22:30 ; September to June 09:30 - 21:00 

It's rare to hear about a cafe that has three floors that is also spacious enough to rest at with an outdoor terrace that give you a great view of the ocean.

If you decide to come here to Cafe Shwimpo, I recommend that you stay till the evening to watch the sunset and grab a seat by the terrace for a better view to watch an unforgettable scenery.

The signature menu of Cafe Shwimpyo is Bingsu (Shaved Ice) with Tteok, Green Tea Ice Cream, and Sweet Potato Sauce which may seem strange in color but is very delicious.

Jeju Island Cafes : 7. Cafe Gongjakso (카페 공작소)

• Address : 1446 Haeikhaean-ro, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju
• Hours : 08:30 - 21:00

Cafe Gongjakso is designed in a romantic style that many people in Korea love and is super famous on social media.

In addition to coffee, Cafe Gongjakso also sells Jeju Island souvenirs so come visit here and buy some cute postcards on the way back home.

Overall, the store is very beautiful and is liked by a lot of females. There are not that many cafes in Jeju Island with special photo spots but Cafe Gongjakso has spots and many people come take wedding photos here.

Opposite the cafe there is a photo spot with a table and two chair with a bouquet of flowers where many young couples come to take photos. Isn't it beautiful?

Jeju Island Cafes : 8. Alaska in Jeju (알래스카 인 제주)

Alaska in Jeju is a cafe in Jeju Island that has a very clean atmosphere with its wide windows and white walls.

Alaska in the name actually refers to the place Alaska and you can see a lot of polar bear dolls in the cafe. Because it is themes after Alaska, the cafe is mainly white with many polar bear dolls around the cafe.

The simple ice cream is divided into black and white and the cake here is also divided into black and white with a clean and comfortable atmosphere overall. I personally like this minimalist design and would love to take photos and have a rest here.

Jeju Island Cafes : 9. Cafe Dongnae (카페 동네)

• Time : 10:00 - 18:00 ; Closed every Tuesday

The appearance of the cafe fits the name Cafe Dongnae (Korean for neighborhood) as it has a friendly atmosphere and is near a residential area in Jeju Island.

Cafe Dongnae is designed with wood and they also have a terrace upstairs that you can go to. Sit outside when the weather in Jeju Island is good and relax.

Cafe Dongnae feels like you are at home and has a beautiful design that many cafes cannot replicate. The carrot series is the signature menu item here ranging from carrot juice to carrot cake. Come here to taste desserts made from fresh Jeju Island carrots.

The owner of Cafe Dongnae harvests and collects a lot of carrots in the winter and stores them at a low temperature and uses them for the drinks and desserts here in the carrot series!

Jeju Island Cafes : 10. Madame Choi Bread Cafe (최마담네 빵다방)

Don't be disappointed by just looking at the outside of Madame Choi Bread Cafe as although it looks old, it has a very cozy feeling and a different atmosphere when going inside.

The bread and desserts available here are all handmade which is a big reason why Koreans that travel to Jeju Island always decide to come here to eat the bread and desserts.

Although the desserts and bread may not look that fancy, they are all delicious. If you come here during the winter you will be able to hear the firewood from the fireplace making the atmosphere of the cafe even better.
