There are thousands of cafes in Korea, but not every cafe is special and unique. I'll be introducing nine fantastic cafes in Seoul with their own character and style. If you like taking pictures of aesthetic places, these cafes are it!

Cafe & Other (카페앤아더)

During the summer, Cafe & Other is renowned for its small outdoor pool where you can dip your feet and chill. In winter, the small outdoor pool is out of use. Who would want to dip their feet in the winter anyway... right?

It felt like a studio rather than a cafe and just as I expected, this place could be rented for other occasions such as photoshoots, weddings, and more.

In winter, Cafe & Other is well-known for its romantic and lovely bubble tent.  It would be a perfect place to enjoy a hot drink with a view of snow falling in a crystal-like tent during the winter. Whether you visit Cafe & Other in summer or winter, you'll definitely be able to experience something wonderful.

Bora (보라)

There is a small and quaint cafe hidden in the streets of Bukchon. Bora means purple in Korean, and this cafe is famous for its delicious purple delights. They only use natural ingredients in their desserts, so it's much healthier than your typical desserts. 

The most iconic dessert is the purple sweet potato ice cream and purple sweet potato bingsu (shaved ice with various ingredients). It's not an ordinary food colour we usually see in our daily life; their purple blobs are very popular as it's attractive and tasty. If you like the colour purple, this could be a piece of heaven in a bowl. 

In addition to the signature purple sweet potato dessert, they also sell other eye-catching desserts that include ingredients like red beans, strawberries, matcha, peanuts, ginseng with honey, and more. Seoulism (서울리즘)

The most well-known landmark in Seoul after the N Seoul Tower is the Lotte Tower in Jamsil. It is also the tallest landmark in the city. Seoulism has one of the best seats in the house to observe the Lotte Tower. Hundreds of tourists have taken picturesque photos in front of this SEOUL signpost.

Day or night, you can look upon the beautiful view of the Lotte Tower and the scenic Han River. Sitting outdoors, drinking a cool beverage and enjoying the incredible night scenery with friends will easily be the best night out.

Zapangi (자판기)

Zapangi is the Korean word for vending machine. This bright pink vending machine is actually the entrance to the cafe, so don't be fooled! It is located at Mangwon Market, which is one of the locals' favourite areas to eat and drink! If you're near Hongdae, don't forget to check Mangwon out for fascinating places to visit.

The cafe offers cakes and doughnuts as a dessert, but they're definitely not an ordinary-looking cake and doughnut. The cake is inside a tin can and doughnuts looked like ones you see in a cartoon; very colourful. The decorations for beverages were magical as well!  It reminded me of Alice in Wonderland.

A quirky cafe with a large space was a charming place to stay in, it has many photo spots to take Insta-worthy pictures. Come and see it for yourself! It's definitely worth stopping by.

Alocasia (알로카시아 인더테라스)

Alocasia is a flower cafe located right in front of Kyung Hee University. The owner here does everything from arranging flowers to crafting your drinks. The cafe is full of beautiful flowers and floral fragrances, making you feel like your in a garden.

The wide windows and simple wooden interior give this place a warm and cozy vibe. One of their drinks catches your attention as it has this massive cotton candy served on top. It is super cute and of course, perfect for sharing on social media.

The balance between flowers and cafe are so subtle that it makes this place worth of appreciation. If you'd like to be surrounded by lovely flowers and enjoy a well-made food and drinks come to Alocasia.

Gyeol (결)

The Korean coffee brand BEAN BROTHERS has opened a new cafe called Gyeol in Insadong. BEAN BROTHERS is well-known for presenting high-quality coffee and received high praise from customers. 

The unique look of triangular, square and rectangular tables with round chairs is their signature look. Gyeol's menu is made of an interesting mix of authentic Korean-style ingredients.

The owner said "We chose the area in front of  Gyeongbokgung and Insadong. We wanted to create an authentic Korea Cafe loved by Korean people. Gyeol used different types of natural materials, such as wood, stone, and cotton, for decorating the interior. We are hoping to be an oasis for busy city dwellers in Seoul." 

Visit Gyeol to escape from the hectic city of Seoul and relax with one of Korea's favourite coffee brands.

Hotel 707 (호텔 707)

The exterior of Hotel 707 reminds you of buildings on a tropical island, but if you go in, the interior is luxurious like a five-star hotel. You'll be surprised to see what's inside. 

In this cafe, high-end furniture and beds have turned into tables and chairs. It almost feels like your in a palace of some sort. You feel very posh and elegant when you enter this place. 

However, all this experience comes at a high price. If you have spare cash to spend or want to spoil yourself, this is the place to go to. You will feel like a king and queen.
