Popular tourist destinations of Korea are usually Seoul, Busan, and Jeju Island. But there's so much more destinations to check out in Korea other than just these three! Especially during the hot summer months, there are many beautiful destinations throughout Korea that are perfect for a getaway! These are some of the best beach spots we hope you can check out to cool down and enjoy the beach.

Hajodae Beach (Surffy Beach)

Located at a 3-hour drive drom Seoul, Hajodae Beach is in Gangwondo Yangyang. It used to be a restricted military area, but is now a hot summer destination among young surfies.

You can lay on the white sandbags on the beach and take in the salty, beachy air!

Of course, you can surf on Surfyy Beach. There are surfing lessons, boards, and suits available, so don't worry about being prepared.

There are even English lessons for foreign visitors. Even if you don't know anything about surfing, you'll be riding those waves within two hours.

This beach also is home to many festivals throughout the summer months. It has all the summer essentials: beach, surfing, and beer!

Gangneung Anmok Beach

Even if it's not the peak of summer (July - August), Anmok Beach, located in Gangneung, is always beautiful.

During non-peak seasons, it's a calm, relaxing beach where you can take long walks on the beach listening to the waves crash and feel the sea breeze on your face.

There are a lot of cafes along the Anmok Beach street. Some cafes even offer picnic sets such as this one where you can enjoy a cute tea time with the beach waves.

Pohang Yeongildae Beach

Pohang is one of Korea's port cities. It's also the home of Korea's iron manufacturing behemoth POSCO. From Pohang's Yeongildae Beach, you can see the gazebo in the middle of the as well as the beautiful night skyline views of Pohang, brought to you by POSCO.

There are a plethora of cafes, bars, and motels along the beach. You can enjoy the view of the Yeongildae Beach from there as well. There's fireworks during the summer months of July and August, which really enhances the romantic vibes of Pohang!

The hanok is located 100 meters into the sea, away from the beach. It's a beautiful sight to behold, whether it's during the day or in the evenings.

The Yeongildae Beach has a little area called PORACAY that's set up to feel even more beachy and exotic. It's popular among those in their 20s and 30s!

When the sun goes down, the beautiful lights turn on. What a perfect way to spend you evenings, laying there in the lights in a hammock!

Get a can of beer to make the evening even more perfect!

And of course, if you're at the sea you have to get seafood. There's always sashimi, but for those of you too scared to try raw fish, we recommend some grilled clam! Grilled clam topped with cheese and soju to go along, what an amazing combination!

Ulsan Daewangam Park

Daewangam Park isn't a beach, but it's a beautiful destination where you can enjoy the views and vibes of the East Sea. You don't have to go only in the summer; it's beautiful year-round.

Ulsan Daewangam Park is quite a sprawling cliff not unlike Busan's Taejongdae, so we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.

The interesting shapes of the Daewangam and the dense evergreen trails are a gorgeous union of the mountains and sea. The trails are especially beautiful, so make sure to check them out if you're in Ulsan!

There's a Chinese restaurant across from the Ulsan Daewangam Park. How perfect is it that there's a place to get a bowl of jjambbong with the beautiful Ulsan ocean view! I'm visiting this summer for sure!
