The most commonly used Nami Island train ticket booking method is online booking. When you have the time, you can also order tickets from Nami Island to Seoul. However, if you decide to go temporarily or do not want to be chased by time and want to buy a ticket from Gapyeong Station in Nami Island, you can also use an automatic ticket machine on the spot.

The machines now also have English instructions, and tickets can also be bought at the manual window. But for your reference, let me inform you that you can use the automatic ticket machine at the railway station to buy Nami Island train tickets. But of course, it is still based on the situation on the spot. I hope you book tickets online in advance to avoid unexpected situations on the spot.

Many people purchase the ITX ticket back to the Seoul at Gapyeong Station. Basically, the machine has English options, but if you can’t find it, you have no choice but to ask people. Show them your Korean skills.

Also I remind everyone that when buying Nami Island train tickets, whether it is manual ticket sales or by vending machines, you don't need to use your ordinary transportation card. Online ticket holders also need to go to the counter to change their tickets (booked online), so go to the station early to exchange tickets.

Why you don't need your ordinary T-money transportation card? There's a designated gate for ITX riders which doesn't accept T-money.

Basically, when the ITX train will pass by the station, the ITX gate will be open (as shown in the red circle in the picture above), and ITX riders can have free access.

Nami Island Transportation : 3. Getting on Board the ITX

The fastest way to get to Nami Island is to take the ITX. The appearance of the train is as above. Please identify the ITX with its green stripes. Don't get on the wrong car.

Nami Island Transportation：ITX Ticket 

You have designated seats on the ITX. On the above, the red framed part shows you your seat. 7 is the car number, and 8C is your seat. When you get on board, remember to sit on the right seat.

To get on board faster, refer to the platform number. As you can see on the above, the platform has numbers. The red framed sign shows that it's for ITX. The pink one above the red frame is for the Gyeongchun Line. So be careful not to get confused. For my case, my seat was in car 7, so I went to platform 7-1.

Nami Island Transportation: Sometimes on the ITX, there are cars with no seats.

Reminder : Even if you don’t get a seat, you should still buy a ticket. If you are not caught, you are lucky. But don't waste your luck here.

Nami Island Transportation : 4. Cheongryangri Station & ITX

Cheongryangri Station is another main stop of ITX along with Yongsan Station. Once you get off the metro, follow this bright green coloured sign.

Just remember to follow these bright green signs to get to the ITX platform. In Cheongryangri, there's a lot of elderly people, so the signs are made pretty clear.

However, when you get off Cheongryangri Station's Metro Line 1 platform, you have to walk a long way to get to the ITX platform. So it's much better to go to Yongsan Station.

Now you need to start paying attention 

This is where the ways part. From here, you can choose to go to the platforms of either ITX, Gyeongchun Line or Gyeongui Central Line. I'll walk you through, so please follow closely.

Attention to people getting on the ITX directly from Metro Line 1

• Arrow No.1 : Don't forget to read your T-money card here. You haven't checked out after getting off Metro Line 1, so you need to read your card here.

• Arrow No.2 : After reading your card, follow the signs to get to the ITX platform.

Technically, you can get on board the ITX without having your card read, but I'm not sure about the results. On the platforms 1 and 2, you can take the ITX.

Nami Island Transportation : 5. Getting back to Cheongryangri on ITX

After your trip in Nami Island, getting back to Seoul is quite easy. You just have to follow the signs.

Then again, since you're taking the ITX, you don't need to use your T-money card to go back to Cheongryangri.

Keep walking towards Line 1, and you'll find the exit close by. If you have time, you can also visit the Lotte store at Cheongryangri.

From here, you have easy access to the exits through which you can get to the bus station, or you can move on to Line 4.

Again, to go to Nami Island via ITX from Seoul, it's the best option to go to Yongsan or Cheongryangri Station. Wangsimni station at Line 2, Line 3 Oksu station, and Line 7 Sangbong station all have ITX, but not as many as Yongsan or Cheongryangri.
