Why We Recommend It 

At Sihyunhada, your photo shoot will be based off your consultation with the photographer, allowing you to capture your true self beyond the constraints of typical photo shoots.

Sihyunhada introduced the innovative concept of using "adjective cards," which allows you to choose adjectives that suit you or fit the concept you're aiming for. This enables the photographer to quickly grasp the customer's desired concept and provide an accurate consultation for the shoot. 

During the retouch process, you can directly communicate your preferences to the photographer, ensuring you receive a satisfying final product. After the shoot, you can take pictures of your printed photo in various photo zones.

Photography Guidelines

Busan, Seongsu Flagship Store, Gangnam, Hongdae Space, Bukchon House Branches: Your visit will proceed as follows: Arrive on time for your reservation > Fill out a consultation card > Personal preparation before the shoot > Shooting and editing > Collect your package > Leave the store. The start time for shooting may vary depending on pre-shoot preparations (consultation, personal preparation), and the shooting and editing process will take approximately 30 minutes.

The reservation includes 1 photo shoot for 1 person and 1 retouched photo. Consultation proceeds on-site.

Hair, makeup, and clothing services are not provided.

Partial nudity shots are not available.

Usage Guidelines

Rather than reserving on the day of the visit, we recommend making reservations in advance to ensure availability. Due to our system, it is difficult to change schedules, process refunds, or provide same-day package reservations. 

Please keep in mind that if you visit the studio before opening time or during the lunch break, there won't be an available waiting area.

Due to the small space, only one extra person may accompany you.

There is not a separate time for you to change clothes or fix your hair/makeup, so please do so beforehand or arrive early to get ready before the consultation.

Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive a voucher with guidelines and precautions. Please be sure to review it before your visit.

The entire process is conducted through 1:1 conversations, and after the photo shoot and results have been finalized, changes cannot be made.

While most photographers have basic English proficiency, a translation app might be used for a more accurate consultation.

For visa photo shoots, please bring the specific photo regulations of your country.

Late Policy 

There are many reservations lined up back to back. If you are late, your photo shoot and retouching session will be rushed in order to accommodate for the next reservation.

If you are late, there may be additional costs for the retouching process in the case that it needs to be finished outside of your allotted reservation time.

Cash payment is difficult. Please bring a card that can be used for payment.

Additional Guidelines

Any additional products, such as albums or extra prints, can be purchased on-site.

For a smooth photo shoot process, we recommend checking examples of facial expressions, poses, and background colors through the Sihyunhada website or Instagram (@sihyunhada) beforehand.

Sihyunhada provides services for consultation, photography, and editing only. They do not offer outfits or makeup services.

The JPG file of your finalized photo will contain the signature and logo of the photographer and is provided digitally in high resolution (300dpi).

If you would like to purchase a JPG file of your photo without a logo, you can pay 50% of the photo shoot price on-site.

All rights to the portrait photo and copyrights for photography belong to Recorders Academy ㈜레코더즈. Any commercial use and secondary processing is not allowed without prior consent.

Grade System

Sihyunhada has a Grade system based on the photographers' experience, and Sihyunhada has different Grades (칸) to differentiate between the experience levels of their affiliated photographers.

How to Reserve

1. Please provide the requested information in detail.
2. Please proceed with the full payment.
3. After the payment is complete, your reservation will be confirmed within 1-2 business days. If there is a need to change the reservation date, you will be notified through the provided email or messenger app.
4. During your visit, please show your reservation details to the staff. (The important details regarding the reservation will be provided in the voucher. Please be aware of it before visiting the store.)

Our Visit

We made a visit ourselves to the photo studio Sihyunhada to see what all the hype was about. Sihyunhada has branches nationwide and is well-known as a photo hotspot, attracting not only the general public but also numerous celebrities. From politicians to celebrities like rapper Lee Young ji, Red Velvet Yeri, Mamamoo Wheein, MeloMance Kim Minseok, HOOK Aiki, and various popular YouTubers, many prominent figures in Korea have had their photos taken at Sihyunhada. The branch we've visited today is the Seongsu Flagship Store branch. Seeing its large and splendid exterior, we're excited even before entering!

As soon as you enter, the photo wall decorated with large and small mirrors makes it feel like you've come to an exhibition!

Upon entering, the combination of red tones, wood, and a splendid chandelier gives a majestic feel. The Seongsu Flagship Store has two floors.

Sihyunhada also offers photo-related products for sale, including albums and frames. They have a package that includes both the frame and the printed photo, where the edited photo will be printed to fit the size of the frame.

When you receive your final photo after the photo shoot and retouching is complete, you can come to the photo zone and take pictures of the final product! 

When you first visit the store, you'll be greeted by a staff member who will guide you to a vanity where you can touch up your hair and makeup. You'll also get changed during the preparation time before the shoot. Just like at the Seongsu flagship store, it's important to arrive on time according to your reservation. However, procedures may vary by location, so please follow the guidance provided after making your reservation!

Once all the preparations are complete, you will be guided to a table and instructed to fill out an adjective card. You can choose around 3 to 4 adjectives that you think reflect you best, or you can choose adjectives to fit a certain concept that you'd like your photo to have. The photographer will use this to determine the concept of the photo shoot based on the adjectives you select. The concept will influence factors such as poses, expressions, and background colors!

Sihyunhada provides guidance and adjective cards in English, Chinese, and Japanese, so even if you don't speak or read Korean, there's no need to worry!

After filling out the adjective cards, the staff will provide additional instructions and explanations. Once the briefing is complete, you can now meet the photographer for consultation.

Each photographer has their own separate consultation room. In these rooms, the photographer and the customer engage in a conversation, allowing the photographer to understand the customer's style and preferences. It helps the photographer determine a suitable concept for the shoot based on the customer's style, while the customer can gain an understanding of the concept suggested by the photographer.

When you enter the room, the photographer will show you the adjective cards and ask if you have any favorite or preferred colors. The photographer will then suggest background colors that complement the outfit best and go well with the words chosen from the adjective card.

After the pre-shoot consultation is finished, you will proceed directly to the photo studio. The studio is equipped with hangers for hanging clothes and carts for storing belongings.

During the photoshoot, the photographer will provide direct coaching for posing. They will guide you in every detail, from the position of your arms and height of your shoulders to the direction of your head. They are very precise and meticulous, and try their best to make you feel comfortable! With the precise adjustments and coaching from the photographer, the photos come out much more natural. Experts do make a difference!

After approximately 5 to 10 minutes of shooting, you will start the editing process. At this point, you will be asked to provide your email address so you can receive the edited file of the photo.

During the retouch process, you can observe and engage in a friendly and casual conversation with the photographer. It is crucial not to be late, as any delay may result in skipping or reducing the time allocated for the shoot, leading to less satisfactory results. Please be sure to be punctual and enjoy every moment to the fullest. 

As you go through the retouching process, you may notice that your appearance becomes more beautiful with each touch-up, yet in a natural way, which can be truly fascinating. Before starting the retouch process, the photographer will ask if there are specific areas you would like to focus on for retouching. After the editing is completed, they will inquire if there are any additional retouching preferences. You can simply express your preferences during these moments!

After the retouching is complete, you will return to the lobby and wait for about 15 minutes to receive your photo prints. During this time, you will be asked to scan the QR code in advance and fill out the photo storage consent form. While waiting we checked out the 2nd floor. Similar to the first floor, it is arranged with photographers' rooms, waiting areas, and such.

15 minutes later, you receive a cassette tape package like the one in the photo above. The package is so sentimental that it feels like you're giving a gift to yourself.

The package includes the adjective card you filled out in the beginning, two photo cards, twelve ID-sized photos, and three paper frames to hold the ID-sized photos. Our editor chose the third slot and received a standard 12 ID photos, but please note that the number of photos can vary depending on which slot you choose!

Afterwards, you can head to the photo zone and place your photos on display to get an aesthetic layout of your photos! While the specifics of each photo zone may slightly vary between branches, the basic structure is similar. You can set the photos up or lay them down. Let's go check out what Sihyunhada Frame is like!

In the case of the Seongsu Flagship Store, there is a Sihyunhada Frame inside the store. It's a photo booth with a red hue that matches the overall concept of the store. Today, we'll go to the Sihyunhada Frame Konkuk University branch and take some pictures!

The Sihyunhada Frame has six locations in Seoul: Seongsu branch, Konkuk University branch, Daehangno branch, Seongsu Flagship branch, Sangsu branch, and Yeonnam branch. Among the five Sihyunhada Frame branches in Seoul, we visited the Konkuk University branch, also known as the Green Lime branch. The store is decorated with lime green and dark green colors. Sihyunhada Frame stands out with its distinct colors, making it easy to find as it catches your attention even from the exterior.

Inside the photo booth area, there are explanations about the different camera angles available, and even instructions on how to pose, also available in English!

Sihyunhada Frame has a total of five lighting sources, which makes your skin tone brighter and clearer in photos. 

As it is the Green Lime branch, out of the four photo booths, three have green-themed backgrounds, and one has a lime-themed background. Since each branch has different background colors, please keep this in mind when visiting!

We took a mirror shot in front of the mirror as well! Since it's a photo booth run by a Sihyunhada, we were sure the photos would come out great!

After receiving the photo files through email, we were informed that Sihyunhada keeps the original files stored at the shooting branch. If you ever need to print the photos in the future, you can simply go back to the studio and get them printed again. Thanks to the expert guidance from the photographers, our chosen concepts came out perfectly, resulting in photos that truly match our style. 

Given this experience, we personally feel that Sihyunhada offers valuable photos that are definitely worth it! You may even consider returning once in a while for more pictures. If you visit Korea, make sure to visit Sihyunhada and for this unique experience and photos to last you a lifetime!
