Our Visit

Today, I visited a cat playground located in Myeongdong. The cat playground is a healing cafe with approximately 50 resident cats, and interestingly, it seems to attract more foreign visitors than locals.

You can change into slippers at the entrance and enter the premises.

Upon entering, the staff will provide you with a large bag to store your belongings, ensuring that the cat hair doesn't stick to them. They will also offer hand sanitizer for you to use. Before interacting with the cats, please remember to maintain cleanliness!

The precautionary guidelines are written in Korean, Chinese, Japanese, English, and Russian on the menu board. The beverage menu is written in English. Before admiring the cats, please make sure to read the precautionary guidelines!

Throughout the walls, you can find various information related to cats, including details about the cats currently residing in the cat playground.

Furthermore, shelves and display cases are filled with various toys and figurines, adding to the fun and enjoyment of the place.

The counter is also beautifully decorated with charming details.

At the innermost section, they sell various cat-themed merchandise. Cute stickers and letter papers are available at affordable prices, making them great souvenirs to consider buying!

On the right side of the merchandise counter, there are low seating tables where visitors can sit without shoes. What makes this place even more special is that the floor is heated, allowing you to interact with the cats while sitting on a warm surface.

The rest of the seating consists of 2-seater or 4-seater arrangements, with blankets placed on the tables. This creates a comfortable environment where the cats can rest freely at any time and anywhere they prefer.

Even those who don't own cats would likely be familiar with this treat you mentioned, which is indeed cat food known as "churu." It is a popular snack among cats, and they absolutely love it!

Before giving any treats, it is important to note that cats wearing a yellow scarf or dressed in yellow are on a diet or undergoing treatment. Therefore, you must never offer them any treats.

It is important to respect the guidelines and precautions regarding the cats. Even if you offer treats to multiple cats, it is crucial to be mindful of their individual dietary and health needs. Regarding the cats wearing a blue scarf as shown in the photo, it is advised not to touch them and simply observe them with your eyes. They may be in a sensitive state, and attempting to touch them could result in scratching or biting.
