Ganghwa Seaside Resort

Ganghwa Seaside Resort is very large and facilities such as an observation deck, luge, cable car, cafe, restaurant and convenience store.
If you're tired from exploring, there are many places here to eat and rest.
If you want to ride the luge, it takes about 10 minutes to get there by cable car.
The luge here is 1.8 kilometers long and is the longest luge track in Asia.
There are many curves and you can enjoy it to your heart's content!
From the inside of the cable car, you can get a view of the distant mountains, sea, and ski resorts.
Enjoy nature slowly for 10 minutes and then enjoy the speedy luge.
Pungmul Market

The Pungmul Market is located in a rural town on Ganghwa Island.
There used to be a lot of shops in the building, but when we visited, only the stores outdoors were open.
They mainly sell ingredients such as beans, vegetables, fruits and fish.
There is a small white tent behind it with a restaurant inside that focuses on local specialties.
Stop by and try some of Ganghwado's delicious local food!
Goryeo Palace Site

In the 19th year of King Gojong of the Goryeo Dynasty's reign, the capital was moved to Ganghwa Island to resist Mongolian invasion.
Later, in the 11th year of King Wonjong's reign, the two countries agreed to return the capital to Kaesong, and Ganghwado and the palace were abandoned.
Goryeo Palace Site was also used during the Joseon Dynasty.
What we see today is what was restored of it in 1977.
Yongheunggung Palace

Yongheunggung Palace is near the Goryeo Palace Site.
This is the house where King Cheoljong, the 25th king of Joseon, lived before he ascended to the throne.
Yongheunggung Palace consists of simple architecture.
Ganghwa Anglican Church

Ganghwa Anglican Church is the first hanok-style cathedral on Ganghwado and in Korea and is very significant in Korea's religious history.
The inside of the church is basilica-style and the outside is hanok-style architecture similar to Buddhist temples in Korea.

On Leports Park's official website, Tuesday was the only day they closed, but when we visited on Wednesday, it wasn't operating because of COVID-19.
So, we couldn't experience any of the activities, but we were at least able to take pictures!
There's activities such as cart riding, paintball, and rock climbing, so you can spend an active day here.

Haru Jeongsik is on the way to Yongheunggung Palace.
It's tucked away in an alley, but there are many customers and it seems to be a well-known local restaurant.

This is their Korean-style set meal with many seasonal vegetables.
This restaurant sells a course meal with rice and multiple side dishes like this.
We visited during the Christmas season, so there were a lot of Christmas decorations in the store and it had a warm, homey atmosphere.
